Your hosts
We, Laurence and Jean-Philippe, have fallen in love with the Atlantic coast and its diverse landscapes. The sea has always attracted us, and we wanted to put down roots near a harbour. With Jean-Philippe, you will discover the sea, the Vendée coast and its islands (You – Noirmoutier). He will share with you his passion for boating – even some of his secret spots. Laurence will be your local guide – between restaurants, lovely shops, cafés or bars… she will be able to advise you by adapting to your tastes and desires!
Our history
After busy professional careers, we felt the need to slow down; we wanted to (re)learn how to live each moment intensely. We secretly dreamed of a new common project in which our passions were combined: the sea, decoration, well-being, sharing and meeting people. We were keen to share a part of our life with other people and offer a calm place where you can recharge your batteries as we do. This is how L’Envie was born.
Our inspiration
The word “Envie” has several meanings in French: wish, desire, need… It is also a reference to the river that crosses Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie called “La vie”. “La vie” means “life” in English – quite a programme! With L’Envie, we have just realised a dream, a wish that finally came true.
